Known as one of the earliest social media platforms, Twitter is considered to be success, despite hitting a few bumps along the way.

These are the 10 records made by 332 million Twitter users, throughout the 10 years of its existence.

1. It is estimated that 500 million tweets are sent everyday.

2. Actor, Ahston Kutcher, was the first individual to hit 1 million followers.

3. Pop star, Justin Bieber is the most mentioned person on Twitter, with 950 million mentions.

4. The city with the most tag is Sao Paolo, Brazil with 50 million tags.

5. Most followed person on Twitter is Katy Perry, with 84 million followers.

6. Leonardo Dicaprio’s win in the recent Academy Awards was documented as the most retweeted moment, with 440,000 retweets per minute.

7. The most retweeted event is the 2014 World Cup final match, with 618,725 retweets per minute.

8. Some of the most popular hashtags are #prayforparis (Paris bombing 2015), #bostonstrong (Boston bombing in 2013) and #royalbaby (the birth of Prince William and Kate Middleton’s first child).

9. The most popular character used as a hashtag is #ff, with 539 million mentions.

10. The most preferred emoji is tears of joy, having been used for 14.5 billion times.
