Access bank in a collaborative effort with Airtel Nigeria has launched a service that will enable Nigerian Airtel subscribers to open and manage a savings accounts from the comfort of their mobile phones, thereby saving them the rigmarole of queueing and burning up efficient time in the bank.
The service, known as Smart Savers initiative is designed to offer customers real-time mobile banking services such as fund transfers to accounts in Access Bank and other Nigerian banks’ accounts plus other basic transactions like airtime purchase, account statements/ account balance enquiry and more.
However, the process is as simple as A, B, C. Just dial *903# from your Airtel line to open one.
And in a bid to encourage subscribers to save more, the initiative is giving out a Hyundai i10 and other consolation prizes and all you need to do to be with a chance of winning is deposit a minimum of N10,000.00 in the Smart Savers account.
Well, this move is not the first of its kind in Nigeria because if you look back, you will remember that MTN has this kind of collaboration with Diamond Bank too sometime ago which it tagged Diamond Yellow account. Nevertheless, it is not a bad idea to extend the love to other Telcos in the country.
