Facebook is apparently developing a personal assistant tool similar to Siri – although the big difference is that its offering will be human-powered.
According to The Information, the assistant is currently codenamed ‘Moneypenny’ after the name of M’s secretary in the James Bond novels and films
But instead of flirting with Moneypenny, it will apparently offer help with “researching and ordering products and services, among other tasks”.
Facebook are reportedly testing the software internally at the moment with a view to make it operate with the Messenger app.
The social network recently denied that it is planning to launch a music service of its own to rival Apple Music and Spotify.
Meanwhile, ‘floating’ video clips are currently being tested on the News Feed, which would allow web users to place embedded clips anywhere on their screen and play them while they browse the social network.
