Instagram has finally rolled out the multiple accounts log-in access months after it started testing the feature on select Android and iOS users. Users can now manage multiple accounts from a single device, a big boon for commercial and social accounts that use the platform for promoting their products and causes.
The company in its official blog posted, “Starting this week, you can quickly and easily switch between multiple accounts on Instagram!” The post then went on to detail the steps on how the account switch worked.
- Go to your profile settings to add an additional account
- From there, tap your username at the top of your profile to switch between accounts
- Once you have multiple accounts added, you’ll see your profile photo appear in places throughout the app so you can always tell which one you’re using at the moment
The photo-sharing app, which was acquired by Facebook in 2012 for $1bn (£629m), has been following in the footsteps of the parent company, inching towards the world of advertising with features such as sponsored content being available. Besides allowing commercial establishments to switch from personal to corporate accounts, the latest feature will also enable them to have sponsored content on display through different accounts.
