Samsung has unveiled a new gadget in its folders, the 18.4 inch Galaxy view that will create a new way of consuming mobile video and entertainment especially for movie lovers.
The ‘wow’ gadget highlights a number of video platforms on its home screen including Netflix, Hulu, Twitch, Crackle and YouTube which implies that Samsung may have partnerships in place for all this services .
If so, it will be quite an edge of a view then!
Designed with features that pronounce it more as a smartphone, (like the sim card slot to enable users stream movies on the go) in my candid thoughts, I doubt if it will be as convenient as our everyday smartphones, considering it’s overwhelming size and portability.
Weighing 2.65kg, the Galaxy View sports a full HD 1,920×1,080 display, above which sits a 2.1-megapixel forward-facing camera. Inside is 1.6GHz octa-core processor and 2GB of RAM. A 5,700mAh battery promises eight hours of video playback and the 32GB or 64GB of internal memory can be expanded using a microSD card but its not coming with the latest version of Google’s mobile software, nicknamed Android Marshmallow. Instead, it will arrive running Marshmallow’s predecessor Android 5.1 Lollipop.
What about the price?
That we don’t know yet but there are speculations from a cached listing on Adorama that it’ll start at $599.
Don’t be wowed, only Samsung can tell.
